Everyday Speech and the 5 CASEL Competencies
Our whole-class lessons (Tier 1) are thoughtfully organized into five units across each grade level (Pre-K through 12). Each unit focuses on one of the 5 CASEL competencies—Self-Awareness, Self-Management, Social Awareness, Relationship Skills, and Responsible Decision-Making—ensuring a comprehensive and developmental approach to equipping students with the vital skills they need to succeed.
For targeted intervention materials (Tiers 2 and 3), we’ve organized content by 7-10 core skills. Within each skill, you’ll find the CASEL competency tag clearly labeled, helping educators easily connect the intervention activities to the broader CASEL framework.
This approach allows Everyday Speech to meet the needs of both whole-class instruction and small group or individual interventions, all while seamlessly aligning with CASEL's gold-standard framework.
